I can remember the first time I heard Carlos many years ago in La Experiencia, a name unknown to me then, I came after the first hour, the sun was dappling through the broadleaf trees onto the outside dancefloor. What caught me was a masterful tanda of D’Arienzo Laborde that was mixed incredibly.
As I danced away in the Italian sun, each tanda was the perfect potion I needed as a dancer. Back in early 2019 we were in Minsk when we last heard Carlos and this time we were listening with ears as prospective organisers.
At the end of his set Olga turned to me and said “We need him in Garúa” which was exactly what I was thinking too at this time. Saturday Night as the golden sun will fade Carlos will start your journey into the wee hours.
