In the small world of tango, Ricardo is well-loved by many and rightfully so. I first shared a ticket with him in Eton many years ago and was impressed by his ability to weave the energy and tell a story. He is of course another member of the Troilo afficiando’s club (a club list I keep in my head).
I remember once in an event catching his eye as he DJ’d, awaiting the next tanda which was due to be a milonga tanda and as the first bars of Troilo’s milonga filled the room, I looked again at him there was a knowing glint in his eye as he saw me racing to the floor, this is what makes a DJ, one who knows his audience, he knew he could get me on the floor and start the cascade of dancers onto the ronda.
So it will be Sunday, our bodies supple from dancing the last few days and heart’s filled with the craic from friendships new and reaffirmed. Ricardo will bring the combination of energy and certainty that will have you struggling to take a break.
