The university upgrades the student accommodation to an AirBnB standard with fully serviced rooms for delegates during the summer. You will find yourself transported back to your student days.
Rooms and apartments
Most apartments consist of five spacious single bedrooms with ensuite bathroom. Then all five rooms share a common kitchen and living area, fully fitted out to apartment standards.
We believe this offers endless opportunities for what we have always wanted this event to be about, the craic, the banter and building friendships. Having these apartments offers you a chance to enjoy sitting around watching the sun come up as you share wine and cheese when the post milonga munchies arrive. Or impress your housemates with your culinary skills by having a gang over for breakfast/lunch/dinner, or retreat to the sanctity of your room and rest until it is time to hit the floor again. There are other advantages, no listening to their snoring, or waiting for the bathroom as you will all have a room each. We do not accept any responsibility for accidental collisions in the corridor at night!
Availability and pricing
There are two apartment blocks available to the Garua guests. There are enough rooms reserved for all delegates, The River Apartment Block is located on the North campus. The Courtyard Campus is a newer block also in the North Campus. You can see a virtural tour of campus on the university website.
Booking a room
Booking and payment for the rooms are direct with the University Accommodation Office. Also, you can gather names of friends you want to share with and book in a block of five with the university. Just coordinate with your friends. The university will have all the names of accepted guests. Otherwise, you can wait and see whom you are joining to have the craic with! Through such experiences many new friendships are made.

Cancellations
A booking may be cancelled up to 23:00 on the day before arrival. Cancellations made after this time will be charged in full for each affected night. A 5% cancellation fee applies on cancelled bookings or the portion of the booking to which the cancellation refers.
The rules about alcohol
The rules are in your booking stating, ‘No alcohol is allowed in the apartments’. This is just a suggestion and not a rule that is enforced, the campus will not be searching you as you return from the shops. So please feel free to get a bottle of whatever liquid you like in the local shops and leave it in the fridge, so it is nice and cool after you return from dancing and sit around together chatting over a glass. Of course, please respect those who might have gone to bed early.
Reception
North Campus reception is open from 08:00hrs – 23:00hrs each day. Reception is closed between 19:30 – 20:00 on weekdays and 12:30 – 13:30 on Saturday and Sunday. Located on the far side of north campus it is easy to find as it is the tallest building on the campus and looks like this:
Checking in
Check-in is from 14:00hrs on the day of your arrival. You must go to reception to receive your room key and any other instructions about your apartment.
Late arrivals
If you are likely to arrive after 23:00, please advise us so that arrangements can be made with Security at the front gate for you to collect your key. When you arrive late come to the South Campus and to the Aula Maxima and register for the event and we will instruct you then.
Checking out
You must check-out by 10:00hrs on the day of your departure. Drop your key in the key box in your apartment or return it to reception.
Security and getting help
The main gate closes at midnight but is attended until 02:00hrs. If you are locked out of your apartment, can’t get into the campus grounds in the early hours or have any problems during your stay, call security.
