Sometimes it all falls into place. A solution to every little Wishlist item.
Our Wishlist for Garúa’s Pre-Party was:
1. Start the craic by having a milonga in an authentic Irish pub.
2. Get off to a rocking start with at least 4.5 hours of great music.
3. Get people mixing and laughing.
4. Add something uniquely Irish.
Well, here it is.
Thursday Nights Garúa Pre-Party will be in the first pub you meet as you leave the University grounds.
The Roost.
The music will be driven by non-other than Andy ‘rock the joint’ Stein from the USA. And while we have a Stein on the decks, Pints will be the next thing!
We have teamed up with Guinness and The Roost Bar to give everyone who attends the Pre- Party a chance to step into a mythical place in Irish Culture. This mythical place is behind an Irish bar, and under the watchful eye of Colin the local barman, you get to pull your own, free pint of Guinness to enjoy during the milonga.
Then, after you have completed your ‘training’ and still have the full pint, we will be awarding you your genuine Guinness training certificate, with your name and the date of your joining those elite who understand the art of pulling a good pint of Guinness.
As you arrive at the milonga, you will be assigned your time to get behind the bar, meet the Colin the barman and learn how to pull your first pint of Guinness. This will be going on all night while the milonga happens.
And don’t worry if you don’t want a Guinness, there is a full bar with all the devilish liquids you could ever need. We warned them about an excessive desire for prosecco.
The Roost Bar is also a typical Irish bar with a great food menu. So, there is no need to be hungry in the Milonga. With this in mind we are suggesting that we informally start meeting up in The Roost from 5pm, enjoy catching up with everyone over dinner, then we will start the music around 6.30 on the first floor. This is the downstairs part.
We know that there will be over half the guests coming to the pre party, so this is going to be big fun!
You can google the origins of the word Galore in the title but it means, an abundance, lots of, loads of etc.
Thursday Pre-Party Milonga.
5.00 – 6.30 Pre milonga meetup in The Roost. Maynooth.
6.30 – Closing time First floor Milonga, Craic and Guinness Training.
Entrance for Garua Guests only. €5 on the door and includes your free Guinness.
