The Tango Time Traveller
Jens-Ingo Brodesser

What to say about our DJ for Friday night? Nothing I can type will tell you anything new. We are truly overjoyed to have long term friend Jens-Ingo Brodesser joining us. When we talked about the perfect choice for a rocket launching Friday Night, the list was very short. With years of experience and a deep understanding of the music, Jens-Ingo will be weaving a spell that will wear out your feet. So we can all smile in the capable hands of Jens-Ingo to lift the craic to another level.

We also could not fail to mention that with his wife Benedicte, he is also part of a very important project and personal mission to improve the quality of Tango music with their project Tango Time Travel. If you don’t know any of this, look up, you are living under a rock! Check out www.tangotimetravel.be

So that is the ‘press release’ part out of the way, now for the traumatic personal truth behind the invite.

Every Christmas for years I went to charity event in an old church in Brussels. It was here I first got talking to Jens-Ingo. The event was for victims of Belgian Beer. Jens-Ingo being of German/Greek origins, and having the trauma of being faced with the Trappist nightmares as his only option, was one of the victims the event aimed to help.

Jens-Ingo actually displayed classical Stockholm Syndrome and had become a proud advocate and expert in Belgian Beer. As part of this charity event we agreed to adopt victims and bring them for a short break to a country with real beer. This gives the victims a chance to recover from the mind bending agony of glass shapes and pour techniques with religious overtones that plague poor Belgians. Letting them simply enjoy a few beers with a bit of craic, I personally just think of it as tango karma.
